Whether as a construction material, in boatbuilding, mechanical engineering, furniture, windows, doors, stairs, or even entire houses - wood is an essential resource that we encounter everywhere in our daily lives. It is ideally suited for everything from individual one-off pieces to mass-produced objects for everyday use.

Do you have a creative streak, skilled hands, and a good imagination? Then you should apply to us for an apprenticeship as a carpenter. Innovative minds are also in demand in sauna construction.

Creativity - Precision - Sociability

There are a few qualities you should bring with you as prerequisites for choosing this profession.
Creativity plays a major role in the profession of carpenter - being able to visualize objects, let your imagination run free, and come up with creative ideas.
Working with wood on various machines or by hand requires precise measuring and care in implementation. To put the idea in your head on paper, sketches and plans must be drawn precisely. Good math skills are essential for calculations accurate to the millimeter. During assembly, dexterity and care are important prerequisites for achieving a good result and ensuring customer satisfaction.
But you are not only in the workshop; dealing with customers also needs to be learned. Friendliness and a competent manner are always an advantage at customer appointments.

The training

The training lasts 3 years. The requirement is a completed general education, such as Hauptschule, Realschule, or Gymnasium. The training format is the dual training system, which takes place at two learning locations - alternating between vocational school and the training company.

In the first year of training
you attend the one-year technical school for woodworking, which is recognized as the first year of training. During this training year, you learn the basic manual skills you need for the training occupation in the field of wood technology. To start the second year of training, you must first find a training company that will then train you at its premises. To find out which company is suitable for you, you complete an internship.

The second year of training
becomes more varied, diverse, and practical. You alternate between learning at vocational school and at the training company. You learn everything about carpentry, make your first objects, help build saunas and infrared cabins in our sauna business, and already take part in on-site installations. At the end of the second year of training, your knowledge acquired so far is assessed in an intermediate examination.

In the third year of training
you deepen your knowledge. You work on the production of saunas and infrared cabins using state-of-the-art machines. You learn how CAD software works, how to analyze customer requirements, and how to respond to them. At the end of the third year of training, you complete your training as a carpenter with the journeyman's examination and the presentation of your journeyman's piece.
